I've always had a passion for sports. I grew up playing competitive ice hockey, baseball, football, basketball, tennis, ping pong, golf and skiing. Many of these sports required excellent hand eye coordination and a commitment to practicing and learning the games the right way.
Earlier in my life, I was not only a competitive tennis player but also a tennis instructor. While my son was young and getting into sports himself, I found myself giving back through coaching baseball, basketball, football, and soccer. A couple of years ago, some good friends of ours introduced me to the sport of pickleball. After trying it and learning the basics of the game, I was hooked. I wanted to buy my own paddle and learn more about the game. I did just that and found a local community that would allow me to play regularly and improve my skills. I found that pickleball was not only a great competitive outlet for me, but a great workout and an excellent way to meet new people who share a passion for the game.
After entering a couple of tournaments and increasing my skill level, I wanted to improve my game further and attended a 3-day skill-based pickleball camp in Florida, taught by 4 professional pickleball players. It was at that time that I knew I wanted to become a certified pickleball coach and share my knowledge and passion of the game with others. In February 2020, I attended the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR) certification workshop in Hilton Head, SC and received my PPR certification to teach and coach. In April of 2022, I received my PPR Pro level certification, their highest level for coaching. I'm both a USA Pickleball Association and PPR member. I serve as a USA Pickleball Association Ambassador and a Brand Ambassador for Engage Pickleball.
I founded Spin Pickleball in March of 2020 as a platform to share my knowledge and passion through coaching and blogging for one of the fastest growing sports in America, Pickleball! I enjoy working with all levels and ages of players and make it a point to make my lessons fun, informative, and effective.
I'd love to help you "take your game to the next level"! I hope you enjoy the site and I look forward to seeing you on the courts real soon! Pickle on!
